On March 17th/18th we have a New Moon in the sign of Pisces wrapping up the astrological year, giving us an opportunity to tie up loose ends and guiding us to complete what we have been working on finishing once and for all!
A New Moon in Pisces will Strive for Balance
This new moon energy ending the astrological year is going to push us to balance out our lives. The two fish swimming in water (oftentimes depicted as yin and yang energy) is all about duality. Around the time of this new moon we will be completing things that we have been working on releasing or inviting in to our lives in this new year.
Now is a very good time to ask yourself what you have been neglecting and what you have been over-doing. Are you a workaholic? Do you spend all your time in your relationship? Do you need to put more attention on your professional life rather than your social life? Ask yourself these questions and be as honest as you can, you may find these come up on their own too without even having to ask yourself these questions. But pay attention to what is coming up especially in terms of "balance" during this time.
Now is the time to set boundaries,
don't give too much of yourself to projects that drain you. Don't allow people to suck the energy from you when what you really want to do is spend time for yourself. If there are not healthy boundaries in place for you, you will likely see those be made clear now giving you the opportunity to balance that out. Se the tone moving into the astrological new year by setting the boundaries you have known all along you need to set. It is not selfish, it is important!
Time to Clean-House
Again, this new moon rounds out the astrological year, so whatever is not serving you WILL find it's way out one way or another. As these things surface for us we may feel the natural tendency to hang on to it (whether it is another person, an idea, a habit, a job, etc.) because that's what we are used to doing. However, now is the tie to really work on releasing that thing trying to leave, you may have already been feeling this- I know for me things started making their way out because of this moon early in the week!
Some food for thought on this idea of hanging on to things that maybe aren't helping you:
Ask yourself what you are TRULY getting out of what is ACTUALLY going on.
Make sure you are not letting yourself stay attached to an idea, and you are really looking at the reality of the situation.
Sometimes we hang on to things because our idea that they could get better, change, etc. stops us from releasing it. When in reality, these things that need to improve WILL as soon as you let that stagnant energy move. The things leaving your life are leaving to keep you from being stuck in one place, let yourself be unafraid to expand into the unknown. Yes, it can be scary but it will be empowering!
Reflect and Let go
As you clean house and take stock in the past year, make sure you take some time to reflect on what has worked well for you, and what hasn't worked so well for you. Pisces energy will guide you to look within, you may find yourself replaying situations which weren't "perfect" but they were necessary in your growth and expansion. This new moon may remind you that being perfect is just an idea, you are already perfect the way you are and all has unfolding in its perfect way to get you exactly where you need to be and are today!
As you reflect on the past the feeling of "poor me"/ being a victim can come up... however remember that you can not change what has happened, but you can in fact grow from it. You may be feeling that last surge of discomfort just before you fully let go of an old idea or something that happened long ago that you never really got over. If anything this new moon will surely push you to "get over" those things that have been swimming about in your mind. It is wise in this case to make sure you are looking out for yourself, have anything that provides comfort in arms reach at all times, whether it is a cozy sweater, the number of a close friend you can talk to, or song that you can't help but rock out to when it comes on (trust me, this last one works WONDERS).
Plant what you wish to reap
One of the best uses of a new moon is to set intentions for the next lunar cycle. This one is no different! Make sure to spend time over the next few days quietly planting seeds of what you want to have and to do it with EXPECTATION, that is key. If you don't expect something will happen, it will likely not happen so make sure you expect what you intend to have and don't expect what you do not wish for yourself!
As you release the things that no longer serve you, make sure to fill your mind with those goals and wishes knowing they are possible because you are making room for them. As an example, you could be letting go of an old relationship because you need to make room for a new one! Or you could be planting seeds for a new career opportunity as your old one is cycling out.
Tarot Insight for the New Moon
Knight of Pentacles
This card is guiding us through this new moon phase with power. You can take anything from your past and bring the power it hold forward and allow it to propel you towards your future. Now the Knight of Pentacles asks you to set intentions and set out to make them your reality. "The things you intend today will become your reality tomorrow", so make sure you are taking the time to plan out where you plan to go. This energy is tactful, it does not make half hearted promises because it always remains true to its word. Take the time to promise yourself that you will create what you intend to, in making a vow to yourself to create the very best and show up for yourself to do so you will create a "contract" of sorts that breaking will be difficult. Make this agreement with yourself to be move forward in the most positive ways for you. You will receive guidance on the best way to do so, so be open to any insight you receive, especially in meditation.
